Authentic Bulgaria Quality Mark
Welcome to the Authentic Bulgaria Quality Mark – an exciting new initiative for Bulgarian tourism supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Bulgaria is currently known abroad as low-cost-and-quality tourism destination. This image does not do justice to the diversity and quality of what travelers can find here. Yet it is hard for hoteliers to attract high-value visitors from new, previously untapped markets.
The Quality Mark tells travelers about places to stay where they can count on their professionalism and quality.
For travelers - whatever the category of accommodation –be large or small hotels, guesthouses, family-run inns and villas - if they see the Quality Mark, they know the business has undergone an independent assessment process and has been licensed to carry the Quality Mark.
The “Authentic Bulgaria” Quality Mark” must measure what is most important to high-value visitors, but at the same time this system plays a major part in improving business excellence.
For Hoteliers, the systems which support the Quality Mark will assist them to understand and improve their quality. The rigorous Assessment plus ongoing Customer Feedback address every aspect of the business from Customer Service to Facilities, Design and ambience, to Marketing and Business Planning. They will ensure the accommodation meets all the expected requirements of travelers for professionalism, safety, cleanliness, and comfort.

The bronze, silver and gold gradings of the Quality Mark provide additional signals to travelers on their quality.

As well, places which offer outstanding quality in four areas considered to be the most important for travelers seeking an authentic Bulgarian experience: Food and Wine, Design and Ambience, and Activities, and outstanding Customer Service; can also earn a mark of Distinction.
